As a person with no tattoos at all I was confused with fact that Art dont have sub category of mody mods.
So now if any administrator read this, I must kindly ask you to transfer this post to new category or leave it here becouse Ive noticed that this forum is adressing piercing also.

Lets cut the chase and ask all this crowd here, does anybody have any body mods ?
I see it as deliberate art. on par with tattoes and piercings. It is more like step out into future augmentation of ourselfs.
Not only that incorporates plastic surgery but signifies many socially acceptable {or not} decorations, who knows how many rites of passages into religion or modern primitive movement.
For me, It even has a statement that covers my digital nomad beliefs. {implants, upgraded body parts...} :cheer:

OK , how many of you had a wish to change body look or function?
As our society progress into future we tend to carry the burden of time in a form of body mods.

Many categories exist but I'll name just few
* Explicit ornaments - from piercing over extraocular tattoo and all the way to micro/transdermal stuff
* Surgical augmentation - from what you see on TV on silicone beauties to horn implementations
* Removal and Splitting with long-term force. Sounds good enough allready

Now Im asking ARE YOU GONNA GO ALL THE WAY

Speaking as a guy who has 7 piercings (most on my face) I have nothing against body modification in principle. What I do have a problem with is ugliness and risking your health for something cosmetic.
I don't have the slightest problem with implants as a concept, I'm not one of those guys who thinks it's "unnatural", nothing like that. It's just that I have yet to find an implant that actually looks good. Ok, that is maybe taking it too far, while most of the classic implants you'll see are butt ugly to me (like the ones in the first post), there are some that I find passable... like these for example:

Scarification on the other hand I find absolutely beautiful when done right. Yeah, it can go really wrong like in those horrible horrible pictures you sent (seriously, I almost lost my lunch because of those  ) but you can't tell me you don't find the following pictures gorgeous

On one hand I don't have a problem with people putting stuff in their bodies, in fact I'm a big proponent and fan of transhumanism and would love to see the day where humans have widespread functional implants in their bodies (implanted virtual wallets that can never be stolen or lost, prosthetic limbs or sleek exoskelets that boost our limb strength and dexterity, brain jacks that let you interface with machines directly and similar gadgets). On the other hand I'm to big of a wuss and could never ever do any of the things I just mentioned :(
I'm just terrified of needles and the slow methodical cutting of flesh like in surgery!

I finally did a split tongue :D Finally! Next stop: FANGS!!! Yeeehhhaaa!
Not kidding :D
I love body mods if they make sense and I cant wait for the implants to be augmentations (like night vision or permanent THC release :) )
But those doughnut shaped shits, just showed under the skin just because... I don't get...

I think body modification for cosmetic purposes is just plain wrong. Any type of surgery, the cutting of flesh and alteration to the human body carries serious risks. It's one thing to open someone up in order to put a metal pin in their knee or a pacemaker on their heart so they can live and function normally, but to expose yourself to such risks and potentially serious complications just for looks is insane imho. And I'm not talking just about body mods like the ones mentioned here, I'm talking about plastic surgery in general. If you ask me, one shouldn't be able to decide for themselves if they want plastic surgery. It should be something doctors decide to do only when absolutely necessary, like if a burn victim need facial reconstruction, or if a woman needs a breast implant after a mastectomy.

I think we as a society (talking about Europe and US) are medically advanced enough to have minimal risks during such procedures. In most countries, people are required to have an interview with a psychiatrist before any cosmetic surgery.
For me it is a right to change our bodies as we see fit, decorate them as we see fit, those are our bodies and we get to decide how we look like. Rest is just a matter of taste.

Tell that to the guy in the pictures from a few posts ago.

I'm all for freedom of choice and I agree with you in principal, but there is a limit to what we should or shouldn't be allowed to "choose". For example you wouldn't let a child choose what it eats every day because he would just choose candy, or, similarly, you wouldn't let a kid touch an electrical socket or a hot stove just because it's his body and he can do with it whatever he wants.
