TOPIC: Maintaining pastel colored hair

Maintaining pastel colored hair 10 years 2 months ago #997

I finally did it! I colored my hair bubblegum pink! I wanted to do that since I read Harry Potter and Tonx had that hair-color :)
Now I have run into some serious issues about it:
It fades fast
What products should I use?
How to care for it now?
I love how it looks and I would like to keep it fresh and pink as long as possible :)
Does anybody have some experience with semi-permanent hair colors? All tips and tricks are welcome? :D

This is advice for those with permanent and semi-permanent color in their hair:
Every other wash, do the conditioner wash!
Conditioner has a small amount of the same chemicals as shampoo that will clean your hair. Massage your hair and scalp with conditioner, but make sure to get every bit of oily parts. Than rinse SUPER well, so you don't end up with flat and sad hair for the rest of the day or two :)
Also, try and wash your hair every 3 to 4 days, so the color would stay put :) I know it sounds gross to some, but your hair will get used to the new regime after a month and it will be fine, use the dry shampoo in between washes :D

This is just for semi-permanent colors like Directions or N'Rage:
Put about 10ml of color in 150ml of your conditioner or hair mask, so every time you wash your hair, you color it a bit :)
Best advice I have ever gotten about bright hair colors :P
I will not be forgotten This is my time to shine I've got the scars to prove it
Only the strong survive
I'm not afraid of dying Everyone has their time Life never favored weakness
Welcome to the pride

Thank you a lot! I was already starting to panic about what to do when my hair starts fading... No body wants yucky faded hair :D
If there is anything else you can remember, I will appreciate it a million!
