I herd a lot of talk about what is a new goth style? How it is simple, with trendy details or like goth version of girl HC fashion or even like a "dark Tumlr girl look" . However you put it i quite like it. It is simple and sexy, even appropriate for work/uni environment to some extent. But I would like to hear from you what do you think. Do you like it or not and why?
And I would especially like to know what boys on the forum think about it, sexy or not?

To me it looks like old photos of darkers from the 80's, and I like that kind of fashion. It is funny how goth subculture was more willing to accept all manners of sequence laced, brightly colored, latex and slutty variations on the theme than a modern twist of its own roots...

I have seen kids going around looking like toned down versions of early goths. And I thought I have gone mad and seeing things. I personally like it, it is not that extreme and "in your face" and oddly not that slutty and fetish associated. This style can be called "mom approved goth" They remind me of darkers few years older than me, whom I have admired as a kid. They used to hang out in a park next to the youth cultural center and I would take any opportunity to talk to them and badger them about their clothes of jewelry
Don't get me wrong, this style is creditably sexy on young and good looking girls, but I guess the bit chubbier ones are unhappy for lack of corsets and other "fat hiding gear".

In my opinion, this new goth style is absolutely amazing! It can be decent, sexy, everyday, sweet.... a girl can accomplish a lot with this style. Big plus in my eyes is that it can be modified to be a stylish corporate and work friendly look and it can be sexy without being slutty at all. Different combinations within this style can make it functional and becoming for an adult person with a serious job and cool teen that has no need of paying any attention to common decency.
I have no idea why is it not accepted among goths, and deemed "not goth enough" ...

I think it is to plane. Gothic look is about making a piece of art of yourself and standing out. This looks like just bunch of wannabe vintage clothes...

I must say that nothing is going to happen this week as far as my experiment with nu goth style. I;m sick like a dog and I have managed to fuck up my ribs somehow...
And I was really looking forward to this one, even bought a dark purple lipstick and left my hair white...
What I need to acquire if this experiment thing is going to be a weekly stuff is more stockings and leggings... I'm just used to wearing jeans all the time and those are not very goth at all

Yeah, you would need a lot of leggings for different goth styles, especially nu goth...
Most of it is leggings, good shirts and cool hats
