TOPIC: Board-games

I have been playing board games for years now and I find them a great way of spending time with friends and having fun. It is faster playing and more flexible (in terms of players, how many and in which order) than P&P RPGs and it takes a lot less commitment as well.
I'm interested in your opinion of them and if you have any recommendations.
I will not be forgotten This is my time to shine I've got the scars to prove it
Only the strong survive
I'm not afraid of dying Everyone has their time Life never favored weakness
Welcome to the pride

Sometimes, board games cam be fun. If they are easy playing and interesting to a wider audience than just geeks. It can b refreshing to play with some friends that are not geeky at all. They have new way of doing stuff and thinking outside the box of geekdom :D

Most of my free time I use to spent with familly in ordinary mood..TV, dinner etc.
Got to grab some old boxes and dust off some old memory games and long forgotten dices.
Im sure my kid is gonna love it, more than me.

I found my old Lego box last week and played like I never played with them before! Completely gone into my childhood :D
My grandmother also kept some old family bordgames that we used to take with us on holidays :D Cluedo, Monopoly...
That was super family fun!

Im stalking every game spot and shit hole with dice sound, wherever i go.
And occassionaly I see people are getting back to Monopoly rush, especially with theme based skin and rules. Like..

or popular merchandise, normaly..

Despite the fact im a ZMBigest fan, I would choose Bioshock over it, instantly!
Looks kinda all tight and clearly playable

The only board game I like is beer pong LOL
Or any drinking game that ends with you lying facedown on the floor flat as a board :cheer: :silly: :cheer:

Beer pong? Really?! And you think it is a good idea, to compare that to a board-game?!

I think it is. :P
In many office spaces Ive worked in, only few had ping-ping table. Many used it for...recreational activities   but I liked the idea of regular team building. Most people thinks its just hit my cup rule. There is so many good rules in that.
So dynamic, cheap and rewardfull game...with prolongued after effects  hahaha

Aww come on kittycat, I was making a joke LOL
Don't get your tail in a knot :P

Haven't played that many board games in my life (besides the standard childhood ones like Risk or Clue) so I can't really contribute to the discussion but some friends of mine made me play a game called cards against humanity and that shit is fun as fuck :woohoo:
Don't know if it counts as a board game though... maybe catwhisperer can grace us with her ruling on that :P

Has anybody here tried Smallworld? It's supposed to be something like Risk only with these weird races that you can pick and change throughout the game. A friend of mine has been going on and on about it for weeks now (even though he hasn't ever played the game, he just saw some video on youtube) and I want to check if it is any good before I decide whether I should buy it for his birthday.
