Game music, always. It's the factor developers had in mind when making the game, so it is to be interpreted with it, and whether it builds up the atmosphere can mean sink or swim for the whole project
It's not rare for me to seek some favorite OSTs, and listen to it for years afterwards

Agreed. Completely! To not listen to the original music of a game is an insult to the creators who painstakingly chose just the right tunes for just the right atmosphere. Of course not all games focus so much on that aspect (or get as much out of it) so sometimes, if the music is generic and repetitive or if I'm playing through a game for the nth time, I might play something else in the background but for all first playthroughs (especially for RPGs) it's OST or GTFO

I only ever play racing games, maybe some FIFA with my mates, but when I do I sure as hell listen to my own music. Mostly stuff like Motorbreath or Fuel or other driving themed metal songs
