Maintaining your users

When you take a look at other sites on Althemy, you will notice that they come with a "Join us!" button on the first page. This allows people who are interested in the site to join it and become its members.

You can also invite friends to join your site in the same way and help you moderate it, as well as write content for it.

There are two main types of users:

Users, and Admins.

You, as owner of the site, are above both groups as the only Main Admin.

You have the power to promote ordinary users to Admins, and to demote Admins to Users.

Users can see all parts of your website, comment on blog posts, photos, videos and forum.

Users that you promoted to Admins have the same abilities, plus they can help you by posting new photos and videos into gallery or by writing blog posts for you.

Admins however, cannot change the color or design, nor can they change the setting in Control Panel. They also cannot use their Points to pay for site subscription.

Only the owner of the site - Main Admin - can pay for its subscription and change its layout or design in any way. This function is non-transferable.

To access the members managing section, simply click on the "View all (x) members" in the Members box on the Home page of your site.

Upon entering this section, you can allocate roles to your users; you can either set them as Admins, ban them, or unjoin them from your site, which is done by clicking a red X icon just below their availability status.
