Well. I'm not "a lot of people"
We were young and stupid at the time we were making these records. First one was recorded from 1997 to 2004. it's really just a collection of singles from 7 years of music making. It just sounds like 10 different bands are playing something. It never got that album vibe. The second one 'Future Porn Machine' has 2-3 tracks we used to play all the time in our live shows, and then it got bored. We're not doing it for the money like the Rolling Stones so we do not need to play some old songs just to please the audience. We decided not to play songs which do not move us around anymore. It was a though decision because of our fans, but I think it's the more honest way and more mature way. If we play it live with no connection to it at all - then it's just bullshit, no fan will ever love to hear his favorite song played like that. So, I think that's the main reason. I'm not into that sound anymore, I'm not into that lyrics, or even the whole aesthetics. Also we had a problem inserting some old stuff besides newer stuff, it just sounds totally different and out of place. It has some different vibe, totally different. We're playing newer stuff, the old stuff had it's time. People who loved these songs got the chance to hear them live in their best versions and when we were still connected to that vibe. People change, minds change. That's it. We're into present tense always. Going forward, not backward.
